Baseball season is here for the MiLB. This season, you can enjoy watching the Round Rock Express play against several opposing teams. They are up against the Storm Chasers, Cubs, RedHawks and more. There are all kinds of special events and promotions as well during these games. Right now, we are thrilled to announce the Round Rock Express Prize Package. This contest is open to all and enter simply by liking them on Facebook. The winner of this contest will receive 2 tickets to see Round Rock Express play against the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Saturday, August 24^th. The winner will also receive a $50 gift certificate to The Salt Lick!

Of course, you are probably familiar with baseball and the teams that are playing. But let’s give a little history about this amazing restaurant. The Salt Lick Bar-B-Que restaurant has been in business for well over 40 years. They cook and serve barbeque just as they did when the Roberts family first began in 1967; around a pit and campfire. The restaurant slowly built up around the pit that Scott’s father, Thurman, built in Driftwood, Texas. They have also opened a second restaurant in Round Rock right across from Dell Diamond.

Since then, their menu has grown remarkably well. They serve a variety of pork or chicken plates, sandwiches as big as Texas and salads for any taste. You can’t forget about dessert while you’re here! They sell homemade pecan pie by the slice and a ’la mode style. If you want your wedding or event catered, give them a call! They can set up at your place or theirs.

4th of July Events

The 4^th of July is a day for celebrating our glorious nation’s independence. There are events in honor of this day all over the state. We have outlined a few of the cities who are holding their Independence Day festivities either that day or the weekend of.

For those patriotic folk who love baseball, the Round Rock Express will be playing at the Dell Diamond Independence Day weekend. July 4, 5 and 6 will be full of good ol’ fashioned fun as they play against the Omaha Storm Chasers. After each game, there will be a firework display. Ticket prices start from $8 and can go up to $100. Seats are filling up fast though so get your tickets early!

For party-goers who are 21 years of age and over, the city of Leander is hosting a Summer Bliss 4^thof July Weekend Boat Party. Attendees can spend the afternoon sipping cocktails made from Deep Eddy Vodka as well as Saint Arnold’s Beer on two houseboats on Lake Travis. There are two bars on the second floor, A-list DJs, private massage rooms and much more. There will be 4 shuttle buses to take you to and from the party location so all you have to do is relax and enjoy yourself! Tickets start at $50 per person.

A little further south in the great city of Austin, the 4^th of July Rockaway Beach Party begins at 9PM. It will be held at Hotel Vegas. There will be lots of bands playing at this event including Roky Moon & Out of the Blue playing greatest hits by ELO. Holy Wave will also be performing as David Bowie. Tickets are $5 per person.

The Sunset Bar and Grill is also having a July 4^th Rock and Roll Celebration starting at 8PM. Come out and join them in Cedar Park! Have a safe and happy 4^th of July from your Temple Ford dealer!
